Um another storm?? And some wedding shtuff...

Last night we finally saw the bottom of our parking lot thanks to the bulldozers the construction crew (for our unfinished apartment complex) brought in. Seems like the city of Elkridge doesn't think that our neighborhood is a top priority on their list of places to plow asap... oh well though, doesn't bother me. I likes living in an igloo.

Since we could not move our cars yesterday, we both had to work from home - or rather Mr. Bear worked from home and I read all day. This morning I braved the crappy roads and set off to nanny for a few hours... before the next storm hits!

Thank goodness for the grandparents of my two little guys being in town all week. The weather peeps are predicting 10-20 inches for our area starting at noon today and ending at 7pm tomorrow. If we get even just the min 10in, that will make the total outside 45in... and that is in the areas that haven't been touched by humans or plows. The snow piles are ridiculously tall and if it weren't for the fact that I am afraid I'd topple down one of them, I'd climb to the top, like the Queen of Penniman Park Mountain, and make Mr. Bear take my picture.

You probably should enter my giveaway...meow...it's bear-y sweet. And by the way... remember how I never finished showing you the pro pics from our wedding? I figure Valentine's Day is this weekend - and you know, since its a day for love and all that gushy stuff, I thought I'd post some "awwwwwwwww' pictures from the wedding. And because I don't know what else to talk about, I gonna do this every day for the rest of the week...

Me and my daddy making our way down the boardwalk to the beach

That is a look of endearment...

Smiling at my groom...

Praying - such a beautiful photo

Putting the ring on my finger... you can actually see my dad sort of smiling...

The kiss!

After the kiss... I was so happy

Superbowl Sunday Super-bowl WOO WOO

Chant that to the same tune as "Here we go Co-olts, Here we go! Woo Woo!" (note: I am not a particularly huge fan of the Colts but Peyton Manning did go to UT sooooo, yah, GO COLTS!)

By the way, my dad sings that little ditty every Superbowl Sunday and if I was in CT at my parents house I am sure he is dancing around the kitchen in his grey sweatpants and tall white socks, singing his tune, and asking my mom if she is going to make him red hot wings and nachos.
Today we are hosting a little Superbowl get together with our friends (who just got engaged last week!). Well, we will only be hosting them if the plows get to our apartment complex before the game starts at 6:30... I don't care what kind of car you have, no one can drive in three feet of snow! If the plows don't come, then the Bears will have a lot of snacks to eat.

Mr. Bear yesterday afternoon enjoying some spirits in the parking lot

Oops he fell! He looks like he is just a head, feet, and a hand!

My turn to sit in the snow...

This was around 12pm yesterday... the snow didn't stop until after 4 and last night when we went out for a final measuring we discovered we had received almost three feet of snow!

The blizzard of 2010 was awesome - and we had tons of fun playing in it. We were sad when the snow stopped falling, but the weather peeps are now saying we might get more snow this week. Ohhhh man!

I'll post some more pictures tomorrow... for now, I have to clean our apartment and start preparing our Superbowl Snacks!
*Queso w/ Rotel
*Black bean corn dip
*Mini meatball subs
*Cold artichoke dip
*And especially for our friends - a heart shaped Valentine's Day confetti cake!

What are you doing for Superbowl Sunday?!

P.S. Don't forget to enter my giveaway!

A Bear-y Sweet Giveaway

Hey bloggers! I hope you are all having a fabulous Friday night - as you all know by now, the Bears are in the process of getting snowed in and we couldn't be happier! As promised, I am hosting a lovely little giveaway with one of my favorite Etsy stores: Wise Impressions

We've teamed up to bring you a pretty little ring dish like the one I bought for Mr. Bear for Valentine's Day (mine has two little cuddly bears on it instead of birds). He is always taking his ring off before he goes to the gym, or cleans the apartment, and leaves it on the bedside table. Well, I really fear that one of these days he is going to knock it off that bedside table, forget about it, and spend hours looking for it when all the while it is lost inside a pair of socks left on the floor - and I will be to blame for the missing ring because that is how it always goes, haha.

ANYWAYS, back to the giveaway...here are the rules:
Giveaway starts NOW - ends February 13 at 8pm.
Winner announced Valentine's Day.
1 entry - Become a follower of my super awesome blog!
1 entry - Go to the Etsy store and pick out your favorite 3" round dish for $8.00. Leave a comment telling me which dish you just love love love.
1 entry - Blog about my giveaway and then tell me about it.
1 entry - Follow my cooking blog - I promise you'll love it.

Good luck ladies (and if there are any out there - good luck gents)!

Here comes the SNOW!

Okay... the weather people said the snow was going to start around noon...but I definitely see more than a few flakes falling steadily from the sky and its only 10am! I have to get home before the big stuff hits or I am going to be spending the night with the little ones. Everyone is pretty hyped because the weather dudes are saying that this is going to be one of the most hazardous winter blizzards in Maryland of all time. The Bears are SO ready for this jelly ... we couldn't even sleep last night in anticipation of this storm. It is like the Snow Santa is coming to bring us nothing but gifts of white fluffy happiness.

The pantry is stocked with all the necessities for a snowed in weekend, such as the bananas n peanut butter, triscuits, vodka sauce, penne, and Italian bread - plus more than enough ingredients for our superbowl party feast on Sunday. The fridge is loaded with beer, 6 diff kinds of cheese, eggs, and tomatoes. The wine rack is full. We have meatballs, chicken, and english muffins in the freezer. Plus caffeine laced hot chocolate mix, marshmallow fluff, and French vanilla sweetener. The Bears are so prepared for this storm it's rather pathetic.

One would think we have never seen snow before by the way we are acting, but to be honest, snowstorms, and being snowed in, are SO MUCH FUN!! I also think its kind of romantic to be trapped in a place with your lovey dovey - snuggling and watching movies. Now if only we had a fireplace I would say this weekend is going to be perrrfect...

P.S. If you are going to be snowed in too, go check out my cooking blog for some dinner ideas!

Once you start...

It's so hard to stop. Just when I thought my late night sweet tooth would disappear (obviously bc there were no sweets left to eat) ... My big bear butt bought a jar of Marshmellow Fluff. Ohhhh brother.

I think I need to join a BWCSE group - that is Bears Who Can't Stop Eating... in case you were wondering.

Muchas Gracias... and No Thanks

Here are some things that I am thankful for today - and they are non-traditional - because everyone already knows I am thankful for my husband, family, friends, and God!

*The impending blizzard that is about to hit MD - BRING IT ON MOTHER NATURE!
*How Menage a Trois wine doesn't give me a headache or a tummy ache.
*My husband's appetite - if he was not a big eater or picky I would never get to cook fun stuff!
*Fresh tomato, fried egg, american cheese, english muffin sandwiches.
*The Elkridge library, less than a mile from my house. They have the best fiction book selection I have ever seen - and they may or may not already know me by name. Plus, we are getting to finally watch Mad Men Seasons 2 and 3 for free!
*My well paying nanny job that is helping to keep the Bears afloat the poor river.
*Having the opportunity to change my interview for the teaching program from Saturday to 2/21 so I can enjoy the snowstorm with my hubsband.
*The Magic Treehouse books on cd - Thank you for inventing these. They keeps the kids I nanny occupied while we wait at the bus stop and from kicking the back of my seat in boredom.
*White american cheese. The best thing ever processed by Land O Lakes.
*The box fan in our bedroom that lulls me to sleep every single night.
* Etsy - if it were not for you, Mr. Bear would not be getting such a wonderful Valentine's Day gift! (P.S. Sorry for the delay on the giveaway, I am still waiting to hear from the Etsy seller on her new items that she is posting!)
*Spray tan in a bottle...If it weren't for you I would disappear against the snow every time I walked outside.

Things I am NOT thankful for:
*My crazy appetite - I don't know if its stress or boredom but I still can't stop eating all flippin day long. And the stupid jelly belly addiction needs to go away stat.
*The lack of a dance studio within 10 minutes of my apartment.
*My lack of funds to pay for dance classes (if there was a studio).
*The family that has moved in above us - which consists of an old obese woman who stomps around the apartment all evening like an elephant, a young pregnant woman, one very loud toddler that likes to run and jump until her mom puts her to bed at MIDNIGHT (who in their right mind lets their child stay up that late?!!??!)
*My extremely dry hands and cracked fingertips... I forked over $14 for the worst manicure of my life last Friday hoping that my fingers would look better afterwards and they only look worse.
*The fact that the five year old I nanny for tells me what to do like he is my nanny...

Which is why I have to end this now and take him to the bus before he self-combusts.

Finally seeing real live snow!

The Bears are in heaven right now because it's snowing heavily and doesn't look like it's stopping anytime soon!! Hooray! We finally feel like we are living in the North and experiencing a real winter :-)
